One of life’s great travel pleasures is having an extraordinary dinner, lingering over one more glass of wine, then simply walking upstairs to a beautiful room. No drive home, no logistics — just bed. And the best part? No passport required. These fantastic hotel restaurants make that small luxury reason enough to plan a quick trip.

01. Blackberry Farm - Walland, Tennessee

The original. Farm-driven Appalachian cooking, a cellar that rivals Burgundy and a culinary seriousness that made every property on this list possible. So many of our clients return year after year that we have the reservations team on speed dial.

02. SingleThread Inn - Healdsburg, California

Three Michelin stars above five guest rooms in Sonoma wine country, powered by the Connaughtons’ own 24-acre biodynamic farm. Staying here guarantees a table, and that alone is reason enough to make the trip.

03. The Inn at Little Washington - Washington, Virginia

Patrick O’Connell turned a garage in a Virginia village of 133 people into a two-Michelin-star American institution. The dining room feels like theater, and dinner here is something you won’t soon forget.

04. Canoe Bay - Chetek, Wisconsin

The only Relais & Châteaux property in the Midwest, set on 300 private acres of glacial lakes and Northwoods forest. The nightly fixed menu draws from a three-acre organic garden and honestly has no business being this good.

05. Addison by William Bradley - San Diego, California

Three Michelin stars at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, with a ten-course menu that reads like a love letter to California’s seasons. One of only 14 three-star restaurants in the country and somehow still slightly under the radar.

06. Post Ranch Inn - Big Sur, California

The Sierra Mar dining room sits above the Pacific on one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline on earth. The food keeps getting better every year. The setting was already completely untouchable.

07. White Barn Inn - Kennebunkport, Maine

Part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, this converted 19th-century barn pairs beautifully seasonal New England ingredients with one of the most respected wine programs in the region. Dinner here is polished, memorable and absolutely worth the detour.

If a quick trip built around a great table sounds appealing, I’d love to plan it with you.
